On November 21, 2024, we proudly launched our Decarbonization Plan, a roadmap that underscores our commitment to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and aligns with the Science-Based Target Initiative (SBTi) requirements. As one of the largest telecom distributors, we’re taking significant steps to contribute to limiting global temperature rise to 1.5°C, in line with the Paris Agreement.
Our Approach
This year has been transformative for us. In 2024, along with our ESG strategy, we shaped our climate strategy. We will formalize our commitment to set science-based targets to the SBTi this year, aiming to get our targets approved in 2025.
As our CEO, Alper Turken, stated: “As a leader in telecom distribution, our influence extends to networks and communities worldwide. With that role comes a profound responsibility to act on climate. Our Decarbonization Plan reflects that commitment – a promise to build a sustainable future for generations to come.”
Our Emission Reduction Targets
Our Decarbonization Plan details our commitment and how we plan to reduce GHG emissions across our value chain, covering Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
We’ve set near-term reduction targets rooted in climate science, and we commit:
To achieve these targets, we are planning to take action in our operations (e.g., sourcing renewable electricity, shifting to electric vehicles, and more) but not only. Since more than 99% of our emissions come from Scope 3, we are placing a strong emphasis on working closely with our partners and suppliers through an engagement program.
Our Commitment to Climate Action
Our Decarbonization Plan reflects our commitment to Climate Action and is aligned with the requirements of the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 13 on Climate Action.
We are committed to regularly reporting on the progress made against our Decarbonization Plan, for higher transparency and accountability. Guided by climate science and a determination to integrate sustainability into our operations, we believe this plan will help us reduce climate change's negative impacts.
We hope to inspire our partners and the industry as a whole to embrace climate-conscious practices. Together, we can set the stage for a more resilient and sustainable future in telecom and beyond.
