Accelerating Electric Mobility: Netceed, Zaptec, and Modulo Join Forces to Install 900 Charging Points
Paris/Tours, January 14, 2025 – Netceed and Zaptec announce their selection by Modulo, an energy syndicates group, to provide and deploy 900 electric charging points across ten departments in the Centre-Val de Loire and Grand Est regions. This project aims to accelerate the electrification of territories by enhancing the reliability and accessibility of charging infrastructure.
This strategic partnership is part of a tender initiated by SPL Modulo for one of four lots involving the supply of AC charging stations. It was awarded to Netceed, a leading distributor of technological equipment, and its partner Zaptec, a specialist in smart charging solutions for electric vehicles.
The project plans to install 900 charging points by June 2027, targeting public, underground, and private parking lots in municipalities for public transport users and local authorities.
Objective: Transform local infrastructure to address critical energy transition and sustainable mobility challenges.
A Reliable and Innovative Solution for Charging Infrastructure
As part of the partnership, Netceed and Zaptec highlight technical solutions designed to meet the growing demand for charging infrastructure. Their commitment ensures simplicity, efficiency, and durability to support the energy transition.
- Regions involved: Centre-Val de Loire and Grand Est
- Departments covered: 10
- Planned charging points: 900 by June 2027
- Targeted sites: Public, underground, and private municipal parking lots
Johann Ferchaud, Director of the Local Public Company (SPL) Modulo, explains the reasoning behind this partnership:
“This choice allows us to benefit from excellent value for money while meeting our requirements for simplicity, reliability, and durability. The integrated eSIM card and the waterproof monoblock design of the Zaptec Pro stations greatly facilitate installation and maintenance, reducing operating costs and optimizing station availability. By choosing this solution, we offer our developers a reliable and cost-effective charging service.”
A Strategy Aligned with Territorial Energy Transition
For Modulo, this project is part of a comprehensive territorial equipment strategy, aligning with France’s vision to double the share of renewable energy in its energy mix by 2035, where charging infrastructure plays a key role.
Market Figures:
- Share of Electric Vehicles: As of January 1, 2024, France had 39.3 million cars in circulation, with 4.4% being electric, hydrogen, plug-in hybrids, or dual-fuel gasoline-LPG vehicles (Ministry of Ecology, Housing, and Territories).
- Vehicle-to-Station Ratio: In August 2024, there was an average of one station per 13.5 electrified vehicles. Centre-Val de Loire had the most favorable ratio, with one station for 10.7 vehicles (UFE Electricity).
Dominique Haury, Head of Netceed France’s Energy Division, adds:
“The Zaptec Pro station has already proven its effectiveness in other electricity departments, particularly in eastern France, as well as in government agencies and major national corporations. This success confirms our commitment to offering competitive solutions tailored to local challenges. We are delighted to collaborate with Zaptec and Modulo on this vital project for the future of electric mobility in France.”
Vianney Devienne, General Manager of Zaptec France, concludes:
“This partnership with Netceed and Modulo aligns perfectly with our commitment to an accelerated and accessible energy transition. By combining Zaptec’s technological expertise with Netceed’s logistical reliability and distribution capacity, we are proud to contribute to the deployment of innovative infrastructure that facilitates territory electrification and strengthens sustainable mobility for all.”
