Netceed’s Science-Based Targets Approved by SBTi: A Major Milestone in Our Climate Journey
We’re proud to share that our greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been officially approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), marking a major milestone in our climate action journey.
This achievement affirms that our targets are aligned with the latest climate science and the global effort to limit warming to 1.5 °C, as outlined in the 2015 Paris Agreement.
Climate ambition backed by science
SBTi approval signals more than a symbolic commitment. It reflects our ambitious, science-aligned targets and the rigor behind our sustainability roadmap. Our verified targets include:
- Scope 1 & 2: Reduce absolute GHG emissions by 63% by 2035, from a 2022 base year*
- Scope 3 (Use of Sold Products): Reduce emissions by 67% per EUR value added by 2035, from a 2022 base year
- Scope 3 (Supply chain): Ensure that 70% of our suppliers by spend covering purchased goods and services have science-based targets by 2030*
*The target boundary includes land-related emissions and removals from bioenergy feedstocks.
These goals drive us and our partners to do better.
“Achieving SBTi approval is a critical milestone for Netceed. It validates our climate ambitions and strengthens the trust of our customers, partners, and investors”, Juliette Gaussem, Group Head of Sustainability, Netceed.
Integrating sustainability across our value chain
Our decarbonization plan is not a standalone effort. It’s embedded across aspects of our business, driving transformation and innovation. To meet our targets, we have defined a series of actions across our business and value chain, such as:
- 100% renewable electricity in our operations by 2035
- 80% electric vehicle fleet by 2035
- Continuous energy efficiency improvements across our facilities
- A proactive supplier engagement program to drive decarbonization across Scope 3 emissions
This integrated approach ensures that our impact extends beyond our operations, reaching into the supply chain and up to the customer interface.
Supporting the shift in the network industry
By securing SBTi validation, Netceed joins a growing community of companies leading on credible, science-based climate action. This milestone strengthens our position as a responsible enabler in the telecommunications, broadband, and energy sectors, and is a clear signal to stakeholders that we report transparently on emissions and progress.
“Our SBTi validation reinforces our roadmap to a low-carbon future. We’re determined to deliver impact, not only in our operations but also in how we collaborate with customers and suppliers”, Alper Turken, CEO of Netceed
What’s Next?
While we celebrate this milestone, we know the work is far from over. Our journey will require persistent focus, collaboration, and innovation. We remain committed to measurable climate action, underpinned by accountability and transparency.
